短短數年內巡迴紀錄更是走遍了全世界,曾受邀在stereosonicA State Of Trance 550 & 650,NATURE ONE (兩次紀錄) 以及Electronic Family 、Escapade Music Festival 和 2015 的邁阿密 Ultra Music Festival 進行演出。

2013年於 W&W 旗下音樂品牌’’ Mainstage Music ’’發表的「Requiem」發行不到一周即攻佔 Beatport Trance 排行榜冠軍,並且攻佔了兩大網路音樂平台’’ Audiojelly ’’’’ Trackitdown ’’的排行榜冠軍。


2014年在 Armada Music 和 Revealed Recordings 更連續推出了「Adagio For Strings」和 「Shadow」( W&W Edit ) 加上跨刀混音 Cosmic Gate Armin van Buuren 的 「Save My Night」,正當 「Adagio」成為排行榜冠軍的同時又推出了另一張單曲「Falling Back」 打敗自己的冠軍紀錄。

2015年隨著推出的單曲與混音作品名聲越來越高的他終於和最初支持他的 Armin van Buuren 合力製作出令人瞠目結舌的單曲「Panta Rhei」。

Mark Sixma 已經準備好提升自己到最高點,不光是巡迴表演的現場魅力,或是幕後製作的神秘面紗,等著讓所有的聽眾享受到最升級的傳思能量!!

以下獨家專訪是採中英對照稿,希望能讓你們更貼近 Mark Sixma !

對於創作音樂的時候是否會有甚麼特殊要求的人事物?
Sometimes I come up with a idea and start making it around that or I’m just experimenting on the keyboard until I find a melody I want to work with. It’s different every time.
每次靈感的來源都不一樣,一有靈感時,我就馬上開始執行製作,但有時我也會在鋼琴上亂彈找尋旋律的靈感,所以每次都不同。

「Requiem」 是因為什麼靈感所創作出來的?
I love classical music and I love dance music, so I wanted to combine them both into one track. I have the classical choir elements on one side and some uplifting trance elements on the other.
我喜歡結合不同曲風,像我很喜歡古典樂和電子音樂,所以我想把他們兩個結合起來,讓古典樂的旋律沈浸在電子音樂的元素裡。


是否有想跟中文所結合作創作呢?
Thats actually a cool idea! I haven’t really thought about it , but that would be interesting for sure!
這是我從未想過的好主意!我覺得一定會很有趣。

是因為你在Tomorrowland 2014年Week 1時Remix Cosmic Gate的「Falling Back」 被 Armin所喜歡,所以才兩人一起合作了「 Panta Rhei 」嗎?
Well Armin has been supporting me since 2008 , so he’s been playing a lot of my music and we had a good connection already. We actually talked about doing a collaboration together even before the “Falling Back Remix”.
Armin 從2008年就開始支持我的創作,而因這樣我們建立了很好的關係,其實我們在「 Falling Back 」之前就有在談合作,但我也不確定是不是因為「 Falling Back 」這首歌的關係,你可以問Armin 囉!哈哈!


在巡演中,是否有那些有趣的事情呢?
There was once when I was in India we were on the way to the airport , and it should have only been 20 minutes from the hotel to the airport. On the way there we realised he was driving very slowly for 25 minutes so we asked him why he was driving so slow. No answer.  Suddenly in the middle of the town he got out of the car and we were shocked and trying to figure out whats going on. To find out he wasn’t the actual driver driving us. The actual driver was late for some reason, so we had to pick him up to drive us to the airport. Thankfully we just made our flight! It was crazy!
有一次我去印度演出的時候,我們跟司機在前往機場的路上,從出發的地方到機場其實只要15分鐘左右,但司機開得非常慢,已經開了25分鐘,而且還不是往機場的方向開,我們怕趕不上飛機,一直問司機說可不可以開快點,但是司機一直不講話,後來他開到一個地方下車,然後換了一個人來開車,原來那個司機去接另外一位司機來載我們去機場,真的很扯,只有印度這樣。

覺得台灣是個怎麼樣的地方呢?
Ah its great! Actually my first time to be able see some of Taiwan, tried some of the local dishes which were amazing and the crowd yesterday at Club Muse was incredible. So I had a really good time here.
我很喜歡台灣,這也是我第一次能在這邊走走看看,台灣的食物很好吃,然後昨晚在 MUSE 的演出,舞池的人都很 High! 真的玩得很開心!

Tiesto 改編自弦樂的 「Adagio For Strings 」眾所皆知,但 Mark Sixma 也有一首同名曲,是受到 Tiesto 的啟發呢,還是自己心裡對「 Adagio For Strings」 有不同詮釋?
Well actually the original “Adagio For Strings” was a classical piece by Samuel Barber in 1936 and was used in a movie called “Apocalypse Now”. William Orbit covered it , Ferry Corsten remixed it , then Tiesto came with his version. So there were already a lot of versions to it. I wanted to put my own twist it to it.
其實 「Adagio for Strings 」這首是在1936年由 Samuel Barber 所創作的,很多知名製作人像 Ferry Corsten 也重新混音過,所以到現在有非常多的版本,會想重新製作是因為我想把它改造成我想要的感覺,而我並不是從原曲或其他版本來找尋靈感,我只想自由發揮的混製這首歌。


在放歌時最害怕的事跟最慘的事?
One time I was DJing a fan wanted to come take a picture with me. Which was the last time I allowed that , because he started jogging the wheel and ruining the song. So I’m more careful with that now. When I look back it was kind of funny , but when it happened at the time I was like “ No…”
有一次我在放歌時,有人來找我拍照,不小心碰到 CDJ 的轉盤,結果害我歌整個亂掉,所以後來我再也不准有人在我放歌時找我拍照或靠近 DJ 台。還有,有時 CDJ 也會有讀不到 USB 的狀況也會讓我滿緊張的。

假如有人想學習DJ或是製作音樂,你會給他們怎樣的方向或方法?
My advice would to focus mainly on production. If you want to be an international DJ you need some works of your own to get you out there. So 100 % focus on producing first.
全神貫注的在創作上!如果你想要成為國際 DJ,你必須要有自己的創作,所以你一定要100%投入在創作上。

在音樂生涯中是否有特別的經歷?
Well one that comes to mind is that when I made the track “Panta Rhei” with Armin he invited me to come on stage with him at the ASOT Festival and premier the track with him in front of 20K people! So me and him on stage, it was amazing.
我和 Armin 一起製作了「Panta Rhei」這首歌,而當他在台上首播的時候,他邀請我一起上台,而那場就是全球指標派對 ASOT,我記得好像是 ASOT650。現場有超過20000人,真的是個很棒的經驗。

從事音樂工作,對你的人生有何改變或特別之處嗎?
Only a little bit , nothing too major. Obviously I don’t have a lot of time to spend with my friends and family during the weekend. I miss a lot of birthdays and special occasions that I can’t go to. So when I’m on the road I work as much as I can and when I’m home I can spend more time with the people I care about.
其實也還好,只是假日比較沒辦法和我的朋友們出去了,我錯過了很多生日派對,或其他特殊活動,所以當我在巡迴演出的旅途中,我都把心思放在音樂上比較多,而一回到家,我就是把心思放在我在乎的人身上。

對音樂的未來的看法與期許?
For Trance music in particular I hope people would look at Trance with a more open mind. Some people think Trance should only be a specific BPM , where I think Trance music is a beautiful and diverse genre where you can build a night with many different types of trance eg. Progressive trance , big room trance, Psytrance and so on. I hope it goes that way.
我覺得有些人會在放 Trance的時候,會把音樂拘束在一個 BPM 上,但我覺得一整場的演出有Progressive Trance、Big Room Trance、Psy Trance 等等各式各樣的曲風才是我想要的。
